Fabian became fascinated with Warendorf, Germany’s “Town of the Horse” and it’s centre of equestrian activity while serving his obligatory Army service of 2 years during which he was based there at the army’s Sport School. He decided that this was best location for a business that he had always wanted to start up and that is how it started….

Fabian grew up in Berlin where he was first introduced to the world of horses. During his army service at the Army Sport School in Warendorf, he got to know Warendorf ‘inside and out’. His riding talent was recognized and he received priceless help from many of the top trainers based in and around Warendorf, as well as some of the best riders in Germany who spent time at the Olympic Training centre based there.

Fabian rode up to Grand Prix level in show jumping and enjoyed much success. He received his diploma in Equine Management in 2004 majoring in equitation (all disciplines are demanded and tested) and in 2007 in Equine Marketing. His talent for discovering young talented horses and recognizing quality in horses in general has made him a name in the equine industry European wide. He has also been a staunch believer in the patient, individualized, and complete training program for his horses. This unique system, unfortunately often forgotten with the priorities changing from quality to quantity, has proven itself repeatedly in the success Fabian has had at the year end finals for young horses, the Bundeschampionade and the World Championships, for the last few years. He was able to present horses from his stable in all 3 disciplines at the Finals in 2009. He has always been able to call upon the services of his friends, successful riders and well known equestrians, to exhibit his horses for him.
With the founding of Sportpferde Scholz in 1999, Fabian has set his standards towards the marketing and sales of horses of all ages and disciplines and for International competition standard. Over the past 10 years the business and its popularity has grown consistently.

One very important criteria for Fabian is his personal contact with each of his customers. These include many well-known riders and horsemen and women throughout the world. Being of Argentinien descent, Fabian’s fluency in the Spanish language has enabled him to establish a broad based clientele in South America, Spain, Mexico, and other Spanish speaking countries.

Fabian belongs to a small group of genuine horsemen in the business of equine marketing for whom the horse stands in the forefront as a living animal to be respected and fairly treated and well cared for. In other words it is almost as if to say that the selling process begins with finding the customer who fits the horse! With this concept Fabian has been able to bring the right horse together with the right owners time and time again. His years long experience and close contact with these customers and their individual criteria for their future ‘partners’ has helped him in this important factor of horse selling.

When time allows Fabian serves as a judge at horse shows throughout Germany. In 2008, together with Grand Prix dressage rider Susanne Miesner, he initiated the „Classical Sales Warendorf“ auction. The concept behind these sales is having a training program based on the age, experience, and character, of each horse, and with the horse, not the auction time table, in mind. They are trained daily with patience and respect. Top stable management and care are also of utmost importance to Fabian. The horses have daily turn out paddock time.

This unique system was looked upon with not a small amount of scepticism. How can the two principles be joined? Selling horses and having a constructive and patient training program?
But after a very successful premiere, Fabians theory and system proved itself as a complete success.
